Not your average soap bar
Every bar of soap is made with lye — that's just chemistry. Most bars use one type. Ours uses two. That single difference changes everything about how the bar performs on your skin.
The science, put simply
We combine sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and potassium hydroxide (KOH) in every bar. NaOH creates a firm, long-lasting bar that holds its shape and doesn't go mushy in the shower. KOH produces a creamier, more soluble soap that lathers quickly and glides across skin. Together they produce a bar with the durability of a hard soap and the lather of a soft soap — something neither lye alone can do.
Why it matters for shaving
Dense, slick lather — The KOH fraction whips into a cushioned lather that lets a blade glide without dragging.
Skin protection — A thick lather acts as a buffer between the blade and skin, reducing irritation and razor burn.
Long-lasting bar — The NaOH fraction keeps the bar firm and dense, so it outlasts soft shave soaps by weeks.
No mystery ingredients — Soap made with real lye contains no detergents, sulfates, or synthetic lather boosters.
How it compares
Most commercial bars aren't really soap at all — they're detergent bars made with synthetic lathering agents, and the glycerin that naturally forms during soapmaking gets stripped out and sold separately. The result strips your skin and leaves it feeling tight.
Our dual lye shave bar is true soap. The glycerin stays in the bar where it belongs, which means your skin feels conditioned after every shave — not dried out.
INGREDIENTS: Stearic acid, shea butter*, coconut oil*, local grass-fed tallow, castor oil*, glycerin, sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, sodium lactate, fragrance oil.
*Organic
